Grayed out hardware acceleration box in windows 7?

I have updated the drivers for my nvidia fx5500, I was able to adjust the hardware acceleration in windows XP.

why do I want to lower the hardware acceleration?

when I use sites like hulu in full screen mode I get choppy video unless I right click the video go to settings and click on the display tab and uncheck hardware acceleration.

I can do this with most sites. but some sites use DivX and I'm not able to disable the hardware acceleration on that.

so any idea's?

My card does support this.

and I have updated to the newest driver for my card.

Windows 7 is great. Just need a work around for being able to watch full screen video's on streaming sites since my hardware acceleration box is grayed out not letting me make changes.

Thanks|||In dxdiag Display tab, check if you have the full device and driver details. If driver is Microsoft, your driver update did not work and only the basic MS driver (that is just good for 2D) is installed. For hardware acceleration to work, the driver should be the Nvidia driver.

Now, if you check the Nvidia download website, there is no Windows 7 driver for the Geforce 5 FX series. Just select it in product series in this link.

It looks like your driver update was really for the older Windows version.
