Tweaking Windows 7 x64 / Gaming Rig?

Hello I Know a few things about pcs your basics drivers running programs installing etc etc but im not a hardcore PC Tuner And my Question is.



Is there anything i can do to tweak Windows 7 x64 To give me the best possible performance in games or best speed out of my cpu i know theres the option in advanced propertys to set it for performance but was wondering if anyone had any secrets other then overclocking i like the visual from windows 7 and the taskbar but im talking about backround programs or services uneeded by a gameing machine



My System Specs Are



OS: Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 x2 (Dual-Core) 3.10Ghz

GPU: Nvidia GT 240 1gigabite DDR5 Video Card

Memory: 4 gigs

Power Supply: 650w CoolMasters

Keep the Computer as cool as possible.



Check that your processer isn't fill with dust

Disabling Index Services for me would slow me down!!! For the type of work i do.

Turning off the Aero Effects will HELP



ReadyBoost would only help you if your low on RAM and constantly find your RAM at 99%



Turn off the gadgets|||There is a program called Game Booster that might suit your needs. IOBIT is the company that wrote it. I don't remember any more details, but a web search would certainly find it.|||You should try to follow this guideline:
