Windows 7 Black Screen?

K so i boot up my computer today after a previous day of full functionality and now after seeing the hp logo (this a hp dv3 laptop) and seeing the logo thats a windows one that say starting up, i boot straight to a black screen. This black screen has mouse which i can move around on it but doesnt respond to anything like ctrl+alt+delete and such. So i decide to try safe mode and its works perfectly fine! I try seeing if it's a video card problem but after disabling and reinstalling drivers that problem is ruled out (and anyways i can see the mouse in full resolution lol). Next i search for restore points but being a new comer to Windows 7, I have non :/ So here i have a perdicament and wondering about other possible fixes

p.s. i have done some research and noticed my situation's not like most black screen problems where you can login and get booted to a black desktop with like a my computer folder open and keyboard commands working. My issue is that it goes straight to a black screen right after booting up (no login screen) and all i have is a fully moveable mouse and nothing else.

What i've decided is that the computer is having a brain fart, as i left my computer alone for about 5-10 minutes during the black screen and then it booted up fine. After that 5-10 minute wait, log on and shut down the computer (by using the start menu and selecting shut down. don't just hold the power button) it should boot up just fine after that. It has done it for me about once every 3 months or so (I have the evaluation copy, so i've had it a few months before release).|||Hi, Shake-Zula
