so i have a few questioins for this topic. first ill tell you what i no about my computer, witch is not much
Dell inspiron 1525 - aprox $900
about 1yr old, maby 1 1/2
Generic PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family (Video card)
4GB RAM
OS (C:) 178 GB free of 285
Windows Vista 32 Bit
so here are the questions
1. Should this computer have the ability to run wow on... low, med, high.... detail and resolution, and if you can tell about how many fps should i get (currently getting about 10fps on low settings) also about once a min it will seem to drop, but its more like the whole game just stops. if im just jumping of a ledge or something and it starts doing this for 3-5 sec, when it stops i will still be in the air just off the edge of the ledge insted of at the bottom were i should be by this time. im sure its not a internet connection problem because we bought a brand new router not 1 month ago. also as far as i can tell there is no virus on my computer
2. if i take my computer to the local "computer guy" would he be able to install windows 7 or would i need a new computer to do that. Also iv heard that even though i have 4GB of RAM, running on vista 32 bit im only getting like 2.5 or something. so if i could upgrade to windows 7, 64 bit, would my computer, first be able to install WoW, and would it get faster?
3. the last thing is im currently running on
Generic PnP Monitor on Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
for my video card. Is there a way that i could like buy the
1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M
would the computer guy be able to install this, and would i be able to run wow on max settings?
anyways any help is appriciated, and if so if you could like post a link to were i could just buy the card, or windows 7 and all that what not. thx again|||1) It should barely be able to run WoW on low settings. The video card is garbage and the CPU is probably low-end as well.
2) You can install Windows 7 on it. And you heard correct about the RAM issue. You can only use about 3.5GBs at most if you're running a 32-bit OS. However, the RAM isn't the reason your WoW is lagging so much, it's the video card. Switching the OS to a 64-bit version would allow you to use more RAM, but I wouldn't expect any change in your gaming experience.
3) No and no. You cannot upgrade the video card on a laptop. You'll have to buy an entirely new computer if you want a better video card.
