Can my graphics card run Aero in Windows 7?

I just ran the "Windows Upgrade Advisor" and all the results were fine except for the one about my video card. The result given was:

"Your current graphics adapter won't support the Windows Aero user interface. If you want to experience the benefits of Windows Aero, contact your PC manufacturer or retailer to see if an upgrade is available."

My graphics card is a recently bought, fully functional NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GSO. My old (integrated) 6150 and my later 7600 could run Aero in Vista just fine before I downgraded to what I have now (XP). Do you guys think a GeForce 9600 GSO would be able to run Aero or are there some compatibility issues?|||Hello,

I think you just need to update the drivers:

Nvidia has a download to identify your card here:

NVIDIA Driver Update Tool (3.7MB)

Free Download - Windows XP & Vista

I think updating your card's drivers will correct the problem.

I don't know why Microsoft would say something like that, considering Aero (explorer.exe) is more of CPU hog and less of a graphics hog.|||9600 GSO is an advanced graphic card

it would probably support aero

and l8r versions|||Yes, a 9600GSO can easily handle Aero.

Update the drivers and run that little test again.
